And here I am-- wet and bedraggled beside Eve and Raphael (who, in the book, manage to look gorgeous and sexy when caught in a summer rain storm-- no unflattering waterproofs for them.)
The big smile is because of my lovely haul of reading material; and-- get this-- it's all on 3 for 2 at Smiths at the moment!!

Fabulous pic, India!
You look deliriously happy. As well you should.
I see you have all your favourite authors in hand. Who took the photo?
Eva-- Husband took the photo, as he was with me due to a bizarre and unforseen set of circumstances involving whiplash injuries, the car being written off, and the police needing to interview him after the other driver (whose fault it was entirely) skipped the scene! As you can tell from the fact we were in Smiths together buying books he's fine, but had a day of work to deal with the fallout. (Bet you wish you hadn't asked the question now!!)
And yes-- fabulous lot of books out this month, which is why I look so happy, Kate! Came home with even more than I'd planned thanks to lovely offer-- some of which are pictured! (recognise any?!)
Ooops-- spelling issue. Above should say *off* work!!
A car accident! How awful! I'm glad to hear all is well...as we can tell from your smiling face!
I am glad your husband is fine.
YOu look very happy and I can recognise at least one of those books!
YOur book is on my TBR, and I am so looking forward to it.
Michelle-- just need to get past The Deadline and then I can actually start reading it! (what better incentive?!)
Yaaaaaay! I can comment at last! Lovely pic you nutter you! I'm well known in my local branch of Easons, make friends with the security guards then you'll be ok. Well done, cherish this moment, it's great!
x Abby Green (brought in from the cyber cold)
Abby alas, we have no security guards here in my teeny-tiny town on the edge of the world.
(Perhaps I could come and make friends with yours?)
Glad he wasn't hurt. Huge congrats, you look lovely.
Glad your DH is OK. Hugs on a worrying time for you.
And, um, yeah, I recognise some of the covers *cough*
Fabulous picture, darling, but where's the boa?
Just got back off my holiday and thought I'd catch up on your blog. Great to see your book on the shelf! I'll check it out in my local bookshop. It must be a great feeling.
Annie, unfortunately I've discovered boas are strictly NOT suitable for wet-weather wear. Otherwise of course I'd be wearing it with pride. (And with my fetching waterproof, in a romance writers' variation on Glastonbury Chic.)
Helen, hope you had a lovely holiday! (A lovely WARM holiday) Now... get back to that manuscript!
Coming back to say hi to Nell and Kate-- sorry, blogger still hates me and I missed you both before!!
It's out? How did I miss that?
Will definitely be heading for Smith's on Monday. Or maybe I could persuade Richard to pop in there right now. He's in town so all it'll take is a phone call...
